Extra Costs

It is important that parents understand that there are additional costs when joining the Competitive Team.

• Costumes $135 + HST per costume (technique & tumbling do not need costumes)

• Competitive Entry Fees for group dances ($40-$60 each competition each dance)

• S.D.C Competitive team jacket (to be worn at competitions)

• Dance shoes, tights, make up etc.

• Extra choreography (solos, small groups etc. These are optional, more information will be given at the beginning of the dance season)

• Hotels and travelling expenses for the away competitions

• SOLO | $80 - $125 (approximately)

• DUO/TRIO | $65 (approximately)

• GROUP (4 - 9 Dancers) | $40 - $60 (approximately)

• LINE (10 - 15 Dancers) | $40 - $60 (approximately)

• EXTENDED LINE (16 - 24 Dancers) | $40 - $60 (approximately)

• PRODUCTION (25+ Dancers) | $30 - $50 (approximately)

We instill an appreciation for other dancers and their studios.  We are not out to beat anyone; we are out to motivate our dancers and faculty by exposing them to the highest caliber of talent available.  Only then are we going to produce the best dancers possible.

The benefits of our competitive programs reach far beyond just learning to dance and winning trophies.  Dancers build lifelong friendships on the solid foundation of their many hours spent training, competing and socializing together. They learn the value of teamwork, to trust in each other, to depend on one another and be a reliable person themselves. These important lessons will carry them on any path they choose to take in life.

Our teachers are committed to providing top-notch instruction and are excited to get to know each of our amazing dancers!  They believe in teaching not only dance, but also valuable life lessons such as teamwork, sportsmanship, dedication, and more.

Novice & Part-Time Company

Being a part of the competitive team is a great overall experience for the dancers. They are challenged to work to their potential in a fun and encouraging atmosphere. It also teaches teamwork and sportsmanship while building confidence and increasing self esteem. Dancers are chosen strictly for their ability, technique and showmanship. The Novice and Part-Time programs are a great introductory to the Full-Time program.

 

Team Commitment and Expectations​

Parents please consider the following before agreeing to this year’s competitive program.

• We require 100% commitment from both dancers and their parents

• Attendance is mandatory for competitions, shows, extra rehearsals and regular classes

• It is the parent’s responsibility to take their child to all competitions, or make other arrangements if necessary
